Privacy and transfer of data is unclear. Zero support request options on their site. Their posted privacy policy does not indicate if our past data is sent to their servers or not. Another app, PassWallet, directly states "We do not transfer your passes. They are kept on your phone only." I wish this app was straightforward and privacy-minded.

That doesn't sound right! Our privacy policy states "We do not keep your passes on our servers, they stay on your device at all times" and there is a link to support contact form on the page. There is also a dedicated support page with FAQ accessible both from within the application and from the website with option to contact us.

I installed this app because it should recognise pkpass files. It doesn't. I tap on the pkpass file, it says operation failed... . Further the app shall be able to connect with Google drive and recognise pkpass there. But if it can go to Google drive, why it cannot go to the Downloads folder as all files you download will land there? For the 4.4 raiting i didn't see much difference

Application doesn't have problems recognising pkpass files. Install the wallet app, open your pkpass file with any file manager and select wallet as action ie choose wallet to open it with - it will work 100%. Or maybe you have a problem with your pkpass file. You can send it to support@walletunion.com for us to check it.

Not possible to import pkpass files from phone storage. All it offers is to scan a code. Update: Indeed, it is possible to import pkpass from a file manager. However, a file import feature in the app would be more intuitive.

You can navigate to your pass with file manager and as long as it has extension .pkpass, you can import it into the app by opening the file.
