Hide magisk manager failed #1979
Comments
Rebooted my phone and it still would not hide. Checked the log again and there's a "beginning of crash" line... --------- beginning of main |
@methuselahin "Magisk Hide" is entirely different from the hide magisk function, isn't it? I'll hang my head in shame if it's the same thing and close the report, if so. If not, I have a logcat to share to topjohnwu via Google drive or email. I'm not familiar with the data included, so I'd rather not post it publicly. Here's a recording of the action, topjohnwu, but you'll need to view in full screen to see it if you're on your phone: |
It's a pretty good idea to keep track of @topjohnwu's Twitter: |
Nice, thanks. Looks like it was an hour after my bug report. I'll wait a bit before reporting next time and maybe save the confusion. Thanks! |
For some reason, Google Play Protect randomly blocks our self-signed repackaged Magisk Manager APKs. Since we are root, the sky is our limit, so yeah, disable package verification temporarily when installing patched APKs, LOLz Close #1979
Yep, disabling then hiding magisk worked without a hitch. How are you so effective at maintaining a free project all on your own?! Thanks again! |
I have the same issue with 270 and those steps didn't work for me. |
Just updated to latest on canary and ran into this issue for the first time. Disabling play protect doesn't seem to resolve the issue. |
I am experiencing the same issue. I updated to the latest Magisk Canary version and now I can not hide Magisk Manager. A error message is popping up at the bottom of the screen that says the following: Hide Magisk Manager Failed. Play Protect is disabled on my Xiaomi Mi 9 phone and has been for months. I was able to hide Magisk Manager in the previous version of Magisk Canary without any issues. It's just the latest version of Magisk Canary that is giving me this issue. |
Having the same issue now, Play Protect is disabled. |
Have same issue on new magisk manager.Since this issue is closed that no.one will see this,it's better to open a new issue |
This issue has now been fixed in the latest Magisk Manager 7.5.2 update. |
in What version? i'm using 7.5.1 and still the same. |
@davex2012 I updated to version 7.5.2 and I am now able to hide Magisk Manager. |
Hei, Where did you get 7.5.2 can you give me the link? |
@davex2012 Open the Magisk app on your phone and then click on the "download" icon: |
For me, it always failed until I disabled SELinux temporarily with this command: |
Updated from 249 to 249 (2) just now. Un-hid my renamed "magiks manager" and attempted to re-hide it, but it shows at the bottom "hide magisk manager failed". There's nothing new in the magisk log. The last entry is from 90 minutes ago, well before I updated.
The update didn't work the first time, but there was no error message, either. It started to update, then nothing happened. It still showed that an update was available, so I tried again and it worked the second time.
What other info can I share?
