Another day another insider report from Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman about a new Apple’s product.
The latest claim is that Apple is developing a “thinner and lighter version of the MacBook Air”, this snippet comes from “people with knowledge of the matter”.
Apparently the redesigned MacBook Air could be here in the second half of 2021, although we may have to wait until early 2022.
Gurman indicates that Apple will make the the new look MacBook Air smaller by reducing the size of the bezels around the screen, while the screen will remain at 13in.
It seems that Apple even considered making a 15in version of the MacBook Air but decided against that idea.
Recent reports, also via Bloomberg, claimed that we would be seeing the return of the MagSafe charging port on the next generation MacBook Pro. It seems we can expect to see a similar revival for the new MacBook Air. This is likely to go down well with fans of Apple’s MagSafe adapter that used to feature on all Apple MacBooks and had the useful feature of easily disconnecting the cable from your Mac should you trip over it – avoiding your Mac crashing to the ground.
Alongside the MagSafe charging port the new MacBook Air will apparently have two USB 4 ports.

In March 2021 analyst Ming Chi Kuo suggested in a note to investors that Apple will also add mini-LED to the MacBook Air in 2022 – this will be the first entry-level Mac to feature mini-LED display technology, according to the analyst.
