WhatsApp is developing two new apps for macOS and UWP

Great news coming in the future! Two years ago, we talked about the possibility to see the Universal Windows Platform app for WhatsApp: apps developed using this technology can work on Windows 10+ and Xbox.
Today, @ALumia_Italia has discovered important details about the development of the Universal Windows Platform app: the Twitter Italian profile was able to get the app, publishing some screenshots in their new article:
This is big news for Windows users: they will be finally able to install a new complete application to use WhatsApp, that’s different than WhatsApp Desktop. The app is beautiful and amazing. Note that this app uses multi-device, so it doesn’t need your phone to be connected to the Internet to work. But… there is more to announce today: we at WABetaInfo can also confirm that WhatsApp is working on a new application to release on macOS Catalyst. How is that possible? Thanks to the iPad app!
Maybe you don’t know, but Apple allows using compatible iPad apps on macOS Catalyst and WhatsApp is going to enable the support at a later date: they are working on it right now!
How does the macOS app look? Exactly like the iPad app we spotted some time ago. They have the same interface, but WhatsApp for macOS Catalyst will have some UI improvements: they are needed to use the app correctly on a desktop interface.
Obviously, we need to wait for the iPad app to be released, and there isn’t a known release date, unfortunately.
Being under development, things can quickly change, so we’re following the development and we’re going to let you know if there is news.
