Popular iOS 14 Home Screen Widget App Widgetsmith Gets its First Big Update

October 19, 2020

After iOS 14 arrived last month, Widgetsmith shot to the top of the App Store charts by offering a great way to customize your iOS 14 home screen with widgets. And the app has just added some great new features with its first major update.

One of the best additions is a wallpaper exporter that allows you to coordinate a background with the widgets.

You can now also shift a photo’s position within a frame. For analog clock widgets, there are a wide variety of new hand types to select from.

Here are the other changes:

– You can now choose the starting day of the week.
– Dramatic improvement to the Calendar widget layouts
– Added a Small Fuzzy Time + Photo widget
– Lots of little bug fixes and stability improvements

With the app, you can select a widget from a number of categories like date, weather, astronomy, reminders.

On each of those options, you can adjust font, tint color, background color, and more to best suit your taste.

And that’s not all. You can set specific rules for when the widget will appear on the home
screen.

For example, the weather widget can appear in the morning and then it can switch to your Activity ring progress later in the day. The possibilities are truly endless.

Widgetsmith is designed for the iPhone and all iPad models. It can be downloaded now on the App Store for free.

If you’re interested in viewing weather and tide data, you’ll need an optional Widgetsmith Premium subscription. That’s $1.99 monthly or $19.99 per year.
