Updated to watchOS 6 No Longer Get Notifications on Watch

I'm facing the same problem here. Series 4, 44 mm doesn't get any notifications (iPhone 7) after the update Watch OS 6. Apple please fix this as soon as possible. Unless my watch is quite useless right now because I don't want to use the phone all the time. Thank you!

Wow. Such a subtle statement. I had to offload my Suica (some older phones/regions won’t be able to), then 30min of heart attacks. Plus the hellish reactivation of all my Apple Pay. One just wont go back in now.

Same here, since it appears that this thread is "solved" maybe we should open a XR/Series 4-44mm thread???

I have tried an unpair and restore backup AND a unpair and setup as new as well... still no notification love! :-\

Worse, I strongly recommend NOT unpairing and pairing. One of my credit cards refused to be re-added. Card got blocked as fraud twice trying to get it to work.

MasterCard has now moved me into a 30 day sin bin. So I’m on the edge of cancelling the CC now as this bs is not how you treat customers you make money off.

Same problem here: Iphone XR and watch 42 mm series 3. Tried unpairing, resetting...only thing that seems to work for me is to disable "watch on arm" check and the "cover to silence".... (Sorry but don't know how those options are called in english)

Got exactly the same problem. Unpairing an pairing didn‘t help, restarting my Apple Watch (AW 3 42mm) and my iPhone X didn‘t solve the problem as well. Just tried turning off and on wrist detection on my watch. Maybe that helps.

I can confirm, that shutting down both devices and booting them afterwards helps. In my case I‘ve first turned off my Apple Watch and than my iPhone. After waiting a few seceonds, I started my devices in the same order (first the phone and then the watch). I don‘t know wether this workaround works only in this particular sequence. Anyway I‘m glad I‘ve got my notifications back on my watch.

I'm so glad it wasn't just me having this issue. I have an XR and a series 344mm and I updated both last night when I went to bed. When I woke up this morning no notifications on my watch which was strange. I unpaired my watch and re-paired it and still nothing. So in reading through all these answers I tried turning both my phone & watch off and I got notifications back. Thank you!!!

Yes this worked for me. I toggled wrist detection, and the rebooted iPhone XS Max and Apple Watch s4 in same order and notifications started flowing again. So far I’ve only tested with WhatsApp and iMessage notifications and it’s Ok.

Even tried unpairing and pairing again. Notifications not getting on my series 4, im on watch os 6 and IOS 13 with iphone 8.

even i tried to get chat support from apple and they blaming on third party apps. Really disappointed. They aren’t admit that the problem is on either watch os 6 or on ios13. Instead of they only blaming third party apps like WhatsApp and all, and said we have very limited supports for third party apps.

I also had that problem with my series 4 and iPhone 8. Just turn off both devices (watch first) then turn on both devices (I turned on my phone fully first before I turned on the watch) This worked for me.

Exactly the same issue. Fixed it by rebooting my iPhone XR. Though after it went in Do Not Disturb-mode last night the issue returned and I had to reboot my iPhone XR again. Seems like some notification-service between iPhone and Watch isn’t reinitiated after Do Not Disturb.

Thanks for this. Worked for me. Agree with other comments that it’s a pain to have to do, but working now. Hopefully there’s an update soon enough to prevent from having to do this on future updates. Thanks again 👍🏼

For what it's worth...unpairing and then going through the pairing process again between my series 4 watch and iPhone XS Max fixed the notification problem. They worked as expected when the phone went to iOS 13...it got borked when the watch updated to watchOS 6.

I too am having the same issue. I just bought the new Series 5 on Friday and it's not receiving notifications running on WacthOS 6.

I just spoke with an apple adviser and then subsequently with an apple specialist. He told me that they are aware of this bug and are working towards a fix. He said that they hope to have an update within the next 2 days.
