EDIT MESSAGE

In the article about the WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.23.0.73 update, we announced that WhatsApp is working on the ability to edit messages, available in a future update of the app. This feature has been highly anticipated by users, and it is certainly a necessary feature in an instant messaging application. The feature is still in development but, thanks to the latest WhatsApp beta for iOS 23.6.0.74 update available on the TestFlight app, we discovered that WhatsApp is now working on a new dedicated alert:

As you can see in this screenshot, your messages will be successfully edited for everyone in the conversation in case other people are on the latest version of WhatsApp. If you’re wondering what happens to edited messages sent to people that use an old version of WhatsApp, this shouldn’t be a problem as WhatsApp will likely release the ability to edit messages when all versions incompatible with this feature have expired, so people will have to upgrade to the latest version of the app that can receive edited messages.

Thanks to this feature, users will be able to correct their mistakes quickly and easily without sending a another message. In addition, it can definitely improve communication between users as it will offer users a way to ensure that their messages are clear, concise, and error-free. Note that it will be possible to edit a message within 15 minutes, and those messages will be marked with an “edited” label within the message bubble.

The ability to edit messages is under development and it will be released in a future update of the app. Stay tuned with us as we are going to publish an additional post on this website when we have further details to share with you.
