About the transfer of a large number of additional Starlink terminals, the Minister of Digital transformation Mykhailo Fedorov informed, thanking his Polish colleague Janusz Cieszyński.

“Our Polish friends gave 5 thousand Starlinks to Ukraine. This will help Ukrainians to always be in touch, and critical infrastructure objects to work in the most difficult conditions,” wrote Fedorov.

We will remind you that the Starlink satellite broadband Internet access system from SpaceX became operational in Ukraine on February 26, 2022, almost immediately after the start of a full-scale war. Ukraine became the 29th country in the world where Starlink operates, surpassing, unfortunately under very sad circumstances, many leading countries in Europe and Asia.

Since then, Starlink terminals have arrived in Ukraine both in small batches thanks to volunteers and in very large ones, such as the 5,000 terminals that were sent by SpaceX in April 2022, with the approval of the U.S. Agency for International Development, as well as the governments of France and Poland. Mykhailo Fedorov said back in May 2022 that more than 150,000 Ukrainians use Starlink every day.

Currently, the total number of subscribers, i.e. Starlink terminals worldwide, is more than 500,000. Even taking into account the part of the terminals that failed as a result of shelling and technical reasons, it can be assumed that there are now more than 10,000 terminals operating in Ukraine. Considering that the lion’s share of Starlink is deployed in the US, this is a very impressive figure.

Well, of course, we join in the words of thanks to Poland. Dziękuję Ci bardzo!
