In the article about the WhatsApp beta for Android 2.21.15.7 update, we posted news about a new feature released to users: HD Photos. Thanks to this option available within WhatsApp Settings, it is possible to choose a quality configuration for photos you send between “automatic”, “best quality”, and “data saver”. Unfortunately, the best quality configuration doesn’t let users send photos in their original quality as they are just less compressed. However, thanks to the recent WhatsApp beta for Android 2.23.2.11 update, we discovered that WhatsApp is finally working on a new feature to allow users to send photos in their original quality!
As you can see in this screenshot, WhatsApp plans to integrate a new setting icon within the drawing tool header: this will enable users to configure the quality of any photo. Thanks to this feature, it will finally be possible to select an option to send photos in their original quality, in the future. We think this feature will give users more control over the quality of photos they are sending, especially in situations where sending the photo in its original quality is necessary.
The ability to send photos with their original quality is under development and its release is planned for a future update of the app. As always, we’ll post an additional article when we have further details to share with you.
