WhatsApp is testing sharing media files up to 2GB in size

After releasing the new WhatsApp beta for iOS 22.7.0.76 update, which brings support for iOS 15, WhatsApp is now starting a test that lets people share media files up to 2GB in size in Argentina!

WhatsApp is making its app big with the latest features. After rolling out message reactions to a limited number of beta testers, WhatsApp is now rolling out another useful feature.
Let’s introduce the feature. As you well know, it is not possible to share media files larger than 100MB because this is the current limit:

But there is news: WhatsApp is starting a small test in the last few days, and some people can now share media files up to 2GB! Unfortunately, this is only available in Argentina and it is limited to a certain number of beta testers. In fact, we don’t even know if WhatsApp is planning to roll out the same feature to more people in the future, since this is a test. WhatsApp may even roll back the changes by restoring the previous limit after the test: only time will tell.
Note that, even if these screenshots are taken from WhatsApp for iOS, the ability to share media files up to 2GB is also available to certain beta testers that use WhatsApp beta for Android in Argentina.
