2. Windows Device Statistics Report
With Windows 10 1703 shipping to PCs and now phones, we dedicate this issue of the
AdDuplex Windows device statistics report to Creators Update.

3. Data Source
This report is based on data collected from around 5,000 Windows Store apps running
AdDuplex SDK v.2 (and higher). The raw data analyzed was collected over the day of
April 24th, 2017 (UTC time) unless otherwise stated.
We have made every attempt to consolidate different reported phone model names
under their canonical retail model names, but it is possible that some of the rare model
name variations were not accounted for.
AdDuplex is the largest cross-promotion network for Windows Store apps and games
empowering developers and publishers to promote their apps for free by helping each
other. AdDuplex was established in January 2011 in Vilnius, Lithuania. As of April 2017,
more than 10,000 apps actively use AdDuplex to gain more visibility.
4. Windows 10 Desktop OS Versions
April 24th, AdDuplex
Close to two weeks since
release, almost 10% of
Windows 10 PCs are now
running Creators Update
(v.1703).
It isn’t easy to compare the
velocity with Anniversary
Update (due to release
timing), but it seems to be
more or less similar. So, we
can assume that Microsoft is
rolling out the update with
caution as they did the last
time.

5. Creators Update by Manufacturer (PC)
April 24th, AdDuplex
An interesting slice is to look
at the update propagation by
PC manufacturer.
Not surprisingly the most
rapid CU ramp up is
happening on Microsoft’s
own hardware with more than
20% already running CU or
newer.
The only other brand with
comparable CU share is MSI.
The rest are at 10% or lower.

6. Creators Update on Surface Hardware
April 24th, AdDuplex
If we take a look just the
Surface hardware we will see
that, not surprisingly,
Creators Update is going up
to the current lineup* first –
close to 30% of Surface
Books are running CU and
close to a quarter of Surface
Pro 4s.
* We didn’t include Surface
Studio in this chart as the
absolute numbers are just
too low to produce any
statistically meaningful
results.

7. Windows 10 Mobile Phones
April 24th, AdDuplex
It’s been a couple of months
since we looked at the
Windows 10 Mobile device
usage. Not much is
happening there, but as
Creators Update is rolling out
and not all of the phones are
going to get it, it’s only
natural to take a snapshot of
the situation for the history.
4 out of 10 top phones aren‘t
getting the official Creators
Update and this is pretty
much echoed through the
long tail of the chart…

Overall, despite this data
coming from a day before
Mobile CU rollout, close to
7% of Windows Mobile
devices are already running
the Creators Update build.
Combined with Insiders
running post-CU builds this
makes more than 10% on CU
or later.
