I prefer city shots without the blur-focus, but i love night city shots and this one is no exception. great job!

While I do like the perspective that this picture gives, the hard blur line ruins it for me.

Thanks for the comments! I was just browsing and decided to check-up on InterfaceLIFT to see if there were any new wallpapers, and was quite surprised to see my picture on the homepage! I might just submit some more... ;)

Agreed with Mad Mule. I'd love to see it without the blur.

Successful TILT-SHIFT photo is successful.

Nice work.

The blur is the whole point, people.

I like to see unusual pictures/wallpapers and I appreciate your intention, perhaps capturing a single region and to differentiate from other night shots - which would be great -. But what I can add is saying with sincerity (and I can not say more) is that I can not see in this picture the east side of New York City. Perhaps my weakness is night shots of big cities but this was not good for me. It's only my opinion. Still speaking of cities, architecture, 'Towards St. Paul's' seems interesting. Thanks for posting, spendavis.

Fantastic shot, though I highly dislike the faked tilt-shift effect.

I think it would look much better without it :)

I also would like to see the shot without the tilt-shift effect. It ruins it for me, sorry.

Excellent night shot... But not for me, the blur ruins it. Just my $0.02.

The shot is nice but I don't like the blur neither.

The way those buildings seem to pop out in 3D in this picture really remind me of some type of video game, like a flight simulator. Interesting twist to a standard night cityscape.

Don't like the Blur either. But I really don't think that this is a til-shift shot. I'd rather say f/3.5 is the reason for the blur.

A good shot .. thanks

It's definitely tilt-shift; specifically, miniature faking.

Nice Model ;)

come on people this is a good execution of a specific style of post-processing. If you never look at anything new you will never learn anything.

As with all the other comments, great photo, but blur ruins it for me as well.

So, I gather people would like to see the original picture with out the post-processed tilt-shift effect...

I'll add it to the loupe.

Thanks for all your comments too :)

Awwww, i was so excited to see a nice picture of new york from a nice angle, but then i saw it was a tilt shift :(. And yes to your above post :)

Bad depth of focus and tilted horizon. When taking night shots you should use a stand.

I kinda like the tilt to it tho, it adds a little something to it

I have added a higher resolution, non tilt-shift version of this picture to the loupe, so please vote for it if you'd like to have it!

I rather like the tilt-shift aspect of it because it's different. Plus it makes my screen seem bigger!

is there a version of this picture without blur? would be really great to have a look at it..

nice photo especially since it's using the kit lens. my opinion on the tilt-shift effect is just that: an opinion.

however, tilt-shift effects usually work better if the area in focus is the subject of the photo rather than just a space.

Bummer! Uploading it to the Loupe doesn't help me, a year later. :D

I really like the image (hey I can see my apartment) but like the others, I think the faked tiltshift is too heavy and really detracts from the image.

Score!

On the artist's deviantart page, he does provide it for download sans TS effect. The resolution is only 1920x1200. See that version too and decide what you think looks better!

Assuming we can post external links, I've never tried:

Please upload the non-tilted version again my friend. It is one of the best photos of NewYork City ever taken. And I've seen allot
