The leaves of these Organic Comfrey plants can be harvested several times a season and used as a compost activator to help breakdown other materials, used as a nutrient rich mulch or to make a liquid manure.
Comfrey has long been recognized by both organic gardeners and herbalists for its great usefulness and versatility.
A fast-growing plant, producing huge amounts of leaf during the growing season and is ready for cutting when it's about 60 cm (24 in) high depending on seasonal conditions, usually in mid-Spring
Comfrey will rapidly regrow, and will be ready for further cutting about 5 weeks later. It is said that the best time to cut comfrey is shortly before flowering as this is when it is at its most potent in terms of the nutrients it offers.
