Early GeForce RTX 3060 Ti GDDR6X 3DMark leak performance shows 7% increase over GDDR6 variant

The RTX 3060 Ti G6X is a new model based on the same GA104 GPU but with faster memory.

We managed to confirm some details on the new card, including the upgraded GDDR6X memory speed. All models that we are aware of will ship with 19 Gbps GDDR6X memory, so just as fast as RTX 3070 Ti.

This means that NVIDIA will be filling a small gap between RTX 3070 and RTX 3060 Ti simply by increasing the memory speed of the existing model. The gap is not wide because there are many competing products in this segment. In fact, this is precisely why NVIDIA wants this card to come out.

Based on the results that we saw, the RTX 3060 Ti G6X will be 7% to 10% faster than RTX 3060 Ti with GDDR6 memory. Just remember that these are synthetic benchmarks that may or may not utilize memory bandwidth better than games. It will all be down to resolutions and texture quality when it comes to actual gaming tests.

According to our information, the new model is to feature the same GA104-202 GPU and boost up to 1665 MHz. However, with 19 Gbps memory, we are looking at 36% higher memory bandwidth. We are also in a process of confirming the TDP.

NVIDIA newest mid-range RTX 30 GPU is set to arrive in a few weeks. Board partners were told that this model would launch by the end of October, and nothing has changed in this regard. However, with the RTX 4080 12GB cancellation, AIBs have a lot of stuff going on, and they expect NVIDIA to move the launch date, possibly to November. We will provide an update should there be any changes.
